Surveillance

“Surveillance” is an ink-on-paper drawing created using a stippling technique and presented in a black frame. The piece shows a cluster of red, black, and white flowers set against a dark background.

This work addresses the hidden motives behind generosity: the way gifts can become instruments of judgment, and how acts of love can veil an intent to watch, evaluate, and control from a distance. Gifts, like flowers, can carry hidden intentions. People may offer something that seems thoughtful or loving while privately observing and intentionally misjudging.

The contrast in color and the dense dot work reinforce the strain between surface-level kindness and underlying scrutiny.
